BURLEY – Brandon James Hoard, “B”, 25, passed away September 11, 2021, due to injuries sustained in a car accident in Walla Walla, Washington.
Brandon was born in Burley, Idaho, December 16, 1995. Brandon graduated from Universal Technical Institute in Avondale, Arizona, where he was able to pursue his love of anything with an engine. He worked for Lithia Ford in Boise, Idaho, before moving to Dayton, Washington, this spring to work on airplanes. Brandon loved his time spent around airplanes and helicopters, and was hoping to start working on getting his pilot’s license.
Brandon was preceded in death by his father, Michael Hoard. He is survived by his mother Lori; siblings, Ryan, Hailey, Christin, and Whitney (Gage) Telleria; grandparents, Roland and Lynda Glorfield; uncles, Jeff (Karen) Hoard and Shane Glorfield; aunt, Debbie (Bob) Schmid; cousins, Landon, Kaylyn, and Kyra Schmid; and beloved extended family.
Brandon loved spending holidays with loved ones, yearly family adventures to Redfish Lake, fishing at Jubilee Lake, his Volkswagen Golf, making friends stay out way later than they should, sleeping through thirty-five alarms in the morning (including one to remind him to brush his teeth and “showa”), and bowling more games than one would think humanly possible. He hated vegetables and working on recalls for Lithia Ford. Not necessarily in that order.
Brandon took fashion sense from no one. His everyday look included a T-shirt that was two sizes too large, distressed jeans that were more distress than jean, and a backwards baseball cap that was so worn down his ears would poke out the sides.
Brandon had a lust for life that was infectious. He always brought up the mood at any gathering. He was the center of entertainment; something Brandon vied for his entire life. He was always the comedian, the joker, and the class-clown. He would do anything and everything to get a smile out of someone. But truth be told, it was hard not to smile around him anyway.
Brandon excelled at nearly everything he tried. He was an accomplished swimmer, a talented mechanic, the last person you would want to bet against in bowling, amazing at finding studs through a sheetrock wall, and he is, and always will be, the greatest friend someone could ask for. Brandon would do anything for his friends, no matter how ridiculous the request. He could not say, “no” to a friend in need. He would rather spend his entire day trying to make someone else happy than take a single minute for himself. He was the most caring, compassionate, and loving person. Anyone that had the absolute pleasure of meeting him can attest to that.
Our hearts are broken, but we place him into the loving hands of our Father and our Blessed Mother and we look forward to seeing him again.
The holy rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 20. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 21. Both the rosary and Mass will be held at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, located at 802 F Street in Rupert. Burial will follow at Rupert Cemetery.
