BURLEY – Clydette Gayle Harris Beck passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2022, in the comfort of her home surrounded by her family.

Gayle was born to Clyde Larsen Harris and Georgia Nell Harris on her mother’s birthday September 12, 1946, in Pocatello, Idaho. She was the fourth of five children. She attended schools in Burley and graduated from Burley High School in 1964. It was during these years that she met her future husband Bob. They dated on and off for several years. She then attended Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, for a year. She was interested in becoming a nurse and took classes from the local hospital.

After a year at BYU, things became serious and Gayle married her sweetheart, Robert McKell Beck, on April 2, 1966, in Burley, Idaho. They were later sealed on March 11, 1977, in the Ogden Utah Temple. She was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in several callings in the Church. Some of her favorites were serving with her husband in the Singles Ward, Spanish Branch and, most recently, as service missionaries in the Idaho Pocatello Mission.

Her life was filled with service to her family and friends. She provided many meals to widows and widowers and was genuine in her relationships with those around her and always made everyone feel important and loved.

She was an integral part of the family farm, providing support wherever she could. She was extremely mindful of the weather and always showed concern for everyone’s safety. She kept everyone on their toes and worried until every last crop was harvested.

Family was everything to her. She displayed her dedication by attending every activity and event of her children and grandchildren up until the time of her death.

Gayle is survived by her husband of 56 years, Robert McKell Beck, and their children, Brandee (Trent) Bodily, Brady (Doug) Pickett, Ty (Matea) Beck, and Ryn (Lindsey) Beck; her grandchildren, Paxtyn Bodily, Brigham (Chad) Green, Maeser, Strom, and Porter Pickett, Mia, Zettalie, Raef, Taft, Auvay, Kinnley, Paisley, Blakeley, and Brogan Beck; brothers, B. Kent (Iris) Harris and Chad (Charmaine) Harris. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Cheryl Lee McCoy; and brother, LeRoy Craig Harris.

Our family would like to thank Suzanne Cook and Horizon Home Health and Hospice, Dr. Jared Manning and St. Luke’s Cancer Institute for the genuine care of our wife and mother as well as other healthcare professionals who cared for her.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 11, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints - Pella 2nd Ward, located at 152 W. 400 S., of Burley. Burial will be in Pella Cemetery.

Family and friends will be received from 5 until 7 p.m. Thursday, March 10, at Rasmussen-Wilson Funeral Home, 1350 E. 16th St., in Burley, and from 10 until 10:45 a.m. Friday, preceding the funeral, at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation be made to a charity of choice.

From Eileen Albertson Petersen:
July 17, 2023. I don’t know where I was a year ago March, but I just watched Gayle’s funeral service. I am so impressed with Gayle & Bob’s legacy to their children and grandchildren as each one on the program testified so strongly of the Savior and His Plan of Salvation. Gayle is surely resting in peace after that spiritual outpouring at the celebration of her life. May the Savior’s comfort and peace continue to be with you. Bob & Gayle were such a blessing to our Young Single Adult Ward when Walt was Bishop there 2000-2004. Love from Eileen Petersen and family.

Gayle was a wonderful neighbor to my parents. When Mother no longer prepared meals for herself, Gayle prepared a dinner for her each afternoon, arranged it beautifully on a plate, and had one of her childen take it to Mother. Gayle did that for several years! Our family appreciates that service very much!
My family also enjoyed Gayle's Dutch Oven Pizza recipe at our reunions. She was a good cook! Thank you Bob and Gayle.

As a young child and teenager I looked up to you. As a young mother without a mom to teach me I watched you nurture and love your family.
As an adult woman I watched you offer unconditional love and grace, which you gave to me often. This world will continue to spin but the stars won’t be as bright without you !
I will miss you deeply.
