Steven Michael Johnson

Jan. 14, 1951 - Jul. 15, 2022

BURLEY – Steven Michael Johnson, a 71-year-old resident of Burley, passed away Friday, July 15, 2022, at St. Luke’s Magic Valley Medical Center, in Twin Falls.

Steven was born on January 14, 1951, in Moberly, Missouri, the fourth of five children born to Oscar B. & Evelyn P. O’Bryan Johnson. A few years later his family made the move from Missouri to Idaho, this became the state he loved. Although he moved to Utah for many years he returned to Idaho where he lived until his passing.

Steven drove trucks nearly all of his life, he loved being on the road and on the go. While on the road in 2019, Steven suffered from a stroke. After his stroke he had one goal, to drive again – and he did. When not on the road, Steven could be found fishing or hunting; he loved to hunt and fish more than anything. He also enjoyed motorcycles, horses, baseball and old westerns.

Throughout life Steven had many ups and downs. He closed doors on many and many closed doors on him for one reason or another. There is hurt, there is pain and there is anger, but there is also understanding that mental illness is hard; hard for Steven, his family and his friends.

Steven was married and divorced twice throughout his life. From his first marriage was born his only son; from the second, three daughters. He is survived by his four children, three siblings, many grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews. Preceding Steven in death is both his mother, father and step father; one sister, two grandchildren, and one nephew.

There will be no services held. In remembrance of Steven Michael Johnson travel, go fishing,
live a full life, hold on to loved ones, and be kind, as life is fleeting.

Arrangements have been placed in the care of Rasmussen-Wilson Funeral Home of Burley.

From Your baby sister Danalyn Hull:
My big brother Stevie Mike , I love you so so much, I tried to do what you asked of me. I loved the last three yrs the best of all ( since your first stroke ) we got pretty close. I enjoyed you coming down to visit on your days home and all your calls with all your wild stories when you was on the road pulling your trailers across the country.. I really wish things would have been different for you. I knew you needed extra help but i don't think they quite new what to do (things was different back then , not as much help as of today.) I pray our talks about God helped you believe & have peace now. I just wanted to say my final good bye's big brother Stevie Mike . I pray you get to feel the highway between Twin Falls and Burley as you asked and make it your final home. I gave your ashes to your girls today, I prayed things would be different with you and your kids. I hope you all can make peace in your hearts now.
