From Beck:
Grandpa was an amazing person and filled with the spirit once we were playing hide and seek and I hid up high and he saw me and told me to get down I soon realized that this was for my safety and he went out of his way to protect me

Alan and the Garrard family we were not able to be there physically, but we were there spiritually. Death is not the end but the beginning of a beautiful life. One day we will all be there together forever, that is the promise. Your Father was a very good man, that love his family and loved the Lord and he planted good seeds, me and my family were part of those good seeds through your service as a missionary. We will miss him greatly, be strong my brother....we love you and your family...…we send all our love to your mother, we will be praying for you and your family.
From Corine (Larson) Bradshaw:
I am so sorry I could not be there to attend the funeral and express my condolences in person. The Garrard Family was such an important part of my childhood. Bill was always so kind to me. You could hear in Bill's laugh and the twinkle in his eye, that he got a kick out of kids, but especially his own kids. I am so fortunate to have known Bill, and send my love to the Garrard family. Bill, Sandy and family, you have blessed my life more than you will ever know. May God's peace and love attend you in the coming days.

From Trish Hurst:
I was not able to be at the funeral today, but I knew Bill Garrard since I was a child—his sister, Vicki, was my friend and I spent a lot of time at the home of his youth. As I became an adult and was active in the church and 4-H with my family, I had lots of occasions to interact with Bill. He was a very good man and very kind to me and my family. I am sooo sorry for his loss and send my prayers of comfort to his family.
From Wes and Carol Wilson:
We have always admired you two. You have certainly been an asset wherever you have served, and have enriched so many lives. We are sorry to have Bill go. Sandy, you have a wonderful family to support you, and that is a great blessing! We love you.
From Richard Beck, Sandy's cousin:
My condolences to all Garrard family members! Bill came to earth with great talents & deep qualities of character and then proceeded to develop them as he served and loved all of us. He will continue progressing in post mortal life and will have a great work to fulfill in the eternities: It's all about God's children & families! He leaves a lasting legacy that will be a comfort to you as he's absent mortally but watching over you. His sweet spirit will be missed and I'm so grateful for his example of following the Savior. Won't being united throughout the eternities be Heavenly! My love to Sandy and the family.
From Keith Ramsey:
Bill, Sandy, and family are dear friends from the Pella area where I raised my three children. Bill was a kind and gentle man. After becoming single, he asked if I would serve as his executive secretary. He was wise, it gave to many places to put my thoughts and serve others at a tough time in life.
Moving to town was another blessing, to serve his folks as a Home Teacher for a few years. They had passes the Garrard legacy on perfectly.
To the family, so sorry for your loss, our loss. I'm confident you will all carry the banner high for the Bill Garrard family.
From Dee Lon Jones:
Bill Garrard was my Young Men’s President in the Pella II Ward when I was a priest. I don’t remember too many of the activities or lessons from that time, but I remember distinctly how I felt at quorum meetings and at mutual. I felt welcomed, loved, appreciated, and always felt the spirit! Bill had a way of making every YM feel important and loved. He taught with great spirit and inspired us to want to seek after the same spirit and happiness that was evident in his life! Great man! Great leader of youth!
From Kaylyn Franks:
One of the great ones for sure! He lived life big and gentle. Truly one of the best farmers I ever worked with.

From Gay Dawn and Lonnie Downs:
Bill was just an extra-ordinary guy. Always had a kind word for those who crossed his path. We enjoyed many years of knowing him, Sandy and all their kids as they came into Farmer's Corner over the any years we were there. Bill was an outstanding member of our community and supported so many individuals in church, sports, school events, 4-H, farming and the list goes on and on. He will always be remembered and will be greatly missed by our family. Our prayers for tender mercies for Sandy and family at this difficult time. We love you all!
From Warren and Patrice :
We feel blessed to have visited Bill before we left on our mission. Sorry we aren't home to attend his service. He is one of our favorites of all time.
He made me love attending ward council meeting because he really gave us counsel. Not many people can say that about that meeting. We knew that he was genuinely concerned about every member of our ward. And who is going to call me Pat Rice.
Bill affected our family in many wonderful ways. Especially with our Tameka. We appreciate the amazing example of the Savior's love in helping us raise our family.
Your family has a mighty legacy to remember. May the Lord wrap his loving arms around you at this time.
Love your family,
Warren and Patrice
From oliver Garrard:
I have many fond memories of Bill from my childhood. We had fun jumping off of a haystack into a pile of loose straw. I admired him as I listened to some of his Basketball games on the radio. As an adult I found him to be a kind, spiritual and generous man. He was a great cousin ! I was very saddened to hear of his passing but take comfort in knowing of the plan of salvation.
From Jerry and Jolene Hines:
I have known Bill since Junior High, as we were classmates. My children and some of his grew up together, and are friends. I have had the pleasure of meeting and interacting with many people in my career. I have never met one person who said an unkind word about Bill or his family. In my book that says volumes about the man. This community has lost a good friend. Best wishes for Sandy and Family.

From oliver Garrard:
Cousin Bill has been in my thoughts for the last weed or so. I did not know that he was ill but in my mind I was remembering the fun we had as kids on our Declo ranch. I remember listing to Burley high school basketball games on KBIO radio . He was a star. I remember the generosity he showed when my wife and I got back to Burley to visit. I remember the help he provided when we were taking care of my mom's home after she passed. I will always remember what a great man he was.
From Bryce Millar:
Kathy and I consider ourselves privileged to have known this family and this man. Bill always treated me with remarkable grace and kindness, even when he had reason not to.
It might sound funny, but I always enjoyed listening to him pray. Those who have listened, know. Such reverence and sincerity are worthy of emulation.
Deepest condolences to all of his family.

I was so saddened when I got word that Bill had passed away. He was always such a gentle person. We had several heart to heart talks when we both still lived in Pella. He always offered the best advice and never made you feel inferior. Sandy, I do love you both and so glad to have associated with you over the years. May the Lord bless you and comfort you at this time in your loss.
From Diane B McVity:
Thoughts and sincere prayers go out to Sandy and children. I witnessed this love between two people from courtship to present time. We were cousins and welcomed Bill with open arms. Know that you are all loved and may you have the Arms of our Heavenly Father around you give you comfort.
From A Charles Clark:
When someone like Bill Garrard passes away, one feels something important taken from life with a hollow spot left behind. Bill's passing is such an event for me.
We were kids together in the Burley 4th Ward, school mates at Miller School in the first grade and the same schools until graduating from BHS on the same day. By our senior year he was recognized as a leader, a great role model and one destined for success. Soon after high school I left the area for many years. Yet, whenever I returned to Burley, it was with my senior class president that I would "check in" and enjoy the updates he always provided about our classmates. And now, once again a Burley resident, I have benefitted by again having contact with Bill and Sandy. Memories of friends like Bill add a dimension to life not obtained in any other way.
Bill, thanks for being such a circumspect individual and worthy disciple.
From Stanley & Sharon Bingham :

From Kiley Pierce:
Uncle Bill’s large stature use to intimidate me as a small child but it didn’t take me long to realize how loving, patient, kind, and safe he was. He was a giant of a man! A man of giant faith, a man of giant love, a man of giant service, a man of giant kindness, and a man who made a giant impact on people around him. And unfortunately for us, missing him leaves a giant hole. Garrard Family, you were in our thoughts and prayers last week and you will be in them in the weeks to come. Thanks for sharing him with us.
