Carol and all my childhood life long friends. I am so sorry to hear of Wendell's passing. You all made a life long impact in my life. One memory I have never forgotten... I was over for a sleepover and the kids asked if I had ever tried C-rations. Of course I hadn't even heard of them before. So I tried them and I hated them, but I was polite and choked them down. Never ate another C-rations again. Once I joined the Army, I was sure thankful that the C-rations had been upgraded to MRE's and tasted better. But eating MRE's often brought back that fond memory. Uncle Wendell was a great man! I got to live with him & family for about a year in 1976. He always loved to joke around. Kinda like Jerry Lewis. He also was a great teacher and mentor.
