Daniel Wayne Lewis

Apr. 26, 1951 - Sep. 2, 2023

RUPERT – The Founder and CEO of Lewis Land and Livestock bid his final farewell on September 2, 2023.

Danny was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, on April 26, 1951. He was the eldest of five children.

Danny lived like no one was watching and gave like the well would never run dry. Raised in Declo, Danny was active in FFA, 4H, and school sports. After graduating from Declo High School, he pursued a degree in Forestry at Utah State University. He made a living working for Union Pacific Railroad, Lewis Trucking, and Handy Truck Line.

If you know why the grass grows green, you knew Danny Lewis. He had an understanding and love for nature that he shared with those dear to him. Family and friends will keep Danny’s memory alive as they reminisce about fresh-cut Christmas trees, elk camp, and the simple ways he showed he cared.

Danny is survived by his wife, Patti Lewis; step-daughter, Arron Walton; grandson, Jordan Atchison; sister, Gail Adams; brothers, David and Dale “Dee” Lewis; and several nephews and nieces.

Danny was preceded in death by his parents, Wayne and Veloy Lewis; and his brother, Dennis Lewis.

A private family gathering will be held at a later date.

Shriners Hospitals for Children of Salt Lake City made it possible for Danny to walk into our lives. Donations in his memory can be made at https://donate.lovetotherescue.org

Arrangements have been placed in the care of Rasmussen-Wilson Funeral Home of Burley.

Gail, Dee & David, My brother Logan just called me from Pleasant Grove Utah to check and see what I knew about Danny's passing. When we were kids and we'd come up from San Diego to visit, Logan and Danny played together and had great times together. In the last years, the first thing Danny would say to me when I'd see him is how's Logan And I would always let Logan know Danny asked about him and Logan would ask about Danny. Bless you all at this time. Sincerely, Lorna Jones Rogers
