BURLEY – Karla “Sherry” Woolstenhulme passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 10, 2024. At time of passing Sherry was lovingly surrounded by her children, twin sister, and the majority of her grandchildren.

Sherry was born October 5, 1946, in Rupert, Idaho, with her best friend, twin, and womb-mate, Sharlene, to Leta Virginia Jones Bronson and Jessie LaMar Bronson. Sherry spent her childhood on the family homestead in Burley (View), Idaho, along with her four siblings. Her childhood family home was filled with love and music.

Sherry graduated from Burley High School in 1964. After high school she went on to Idaho State University in Pocatello, and then Twin Falls Business College. It was during her high school years that she met the love of her life and husband, Larry Woolstenhulme. The two were married on May 11, 1968.

Sherry and Larry created a wonderful life for their four children, living and raising their family in Twin Falls. Life was filled with church activities, playing board games, and creating a warm environment in their home for family and friends to come and visit. Sherry and Larry went on numerous family trips with their children, enjoying the beauty of the United States traveling in their family van. They continued the same loving environment for their grandchildren at their home in View. They loved each other very much and it was very difficult for Sherry when Larry passed away in 2009.

Sherry worked for the State of Idaho Agricultural Department and later worked for and retired from the University of Idaho Extension satellite campus at the College of Southern Idaho.

Sherry had a love for music and sang in their family band, along with Sharlene and brothers, Reuben and Ray. They created quite a name for themselves and played at dances, weddings, funerals, and special events. They continued singing together up until the last week of her life.

Sherry filled her life with service and served in various callings throughout the years as an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She had a deep love and testimony of her Savior Jesus Christ and His restored Gospel. She also loved traveling with her family, doing family history, reading, ceramics, sewing, $hopping, and was a collector of antiques.

During the last six years of her life, Sherry spent it living next door to her best friend and twin, Sharlene, on the original homestead where they were raised.

Sherry is survived by her four children, Terri Gudgell (Roy) of Jerome, Cindi Sharp (Rick) of Sebastian, Florida, Wes Woolstenhulme (Katie) of Apex, North Carolina, and Amy Hoffmann (Sean Lemons) of Albuquerque, New Mexico; 12 grandchildren, Brittany, Tyler, Courtney, DeVon, Gavin, Cameron, Ari, Gideon, Ian, Emma, Jeremy, and Kael; and one great-grandchild, Oliver. She is also survived by her brothers, Reuben Bronson (Jeanne) and Ray Bronson (Gale); and twin sister, Sharlene Climer (Marvin).

Sherry was preceded in death by her parents, LaMar and Leta Bronson; husband, Larry; sister, DelJeanne Garrett (Sam); and great-grandchild, Hadley Loder.

The family suggests memorials be directed to Ronald McDonald House Charities or to the Shriners Hospitals for Children.

The family expresses sincere appreciation to the oncology teams of St. Luke’s Magic Valley Medical Center and St. Luke’s Boise Medical Center, and to her nurse, Emily Carlson, who guided the family through Sherry’s passing.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 14, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints - View 2nd Ward, located at 554 South 490 East, of Burley. Burial will be at Sunny Cedar Rest Cemetery in Almo.

Family and friends will be received from 5 until 7 p.m. Friday, December 13, at Rasmussen-Wilson Funeral Home, 1350 E. 16th Street, in Burley, and from 10 until 10:45 a.m. Saturday, preceding the funeral, at the church.
