Kyle Kelsey

Aug. 5, 1990 - Jul. 13, 2025

Date of Service: Jul. 27, 2025

DECLO – Kyle John Kelsey, a 34-year-old resident of Declo, passed away at his home on Saturday, July 12, 2025.

He was born August 5, 1990, in Burley, Idaho, to Ron Kelsey and Denise (Quatrone) Kelsey.

Kyle was bold and enthusiastic with an unforgettable character and an enormous heart. He lived life on his own terms: fiercely, unapologetically, and with a steadfast loyalty to those he loved. He was the life of the party and could make anyone laugh. He had the ability to create lasting friendships both at home and across the country. Kyle was witty when he chose to be, and sharper than he ever let on. He was outgoing and generous, often going out of his way to help anyone in need. As a typical younger brother, he got away with just about anything, bending rules and breaking hearts while charming everyone along the way. Kyle was a fiery maverick with an unexpected soft side.

Kyle was raised on a farm in Declo by Ron and Denise surrounded by friends and family. He spent much of his childhood with Grandma Kelsey and Aunt Debra who each inspiringly guided him along life's adventures. He looked up to his older brother, Shane, although he would rarely admit it. The untimely loss of Denise in 2010 left a devastating impact on both brothers. Kyle was recently overwhelmed by the tragic passing of his cousin and best friend, Jerod, with whom he shared an inseparable bond. Kyle had two beautiful children, Kace and AlliRae. He loved animals and cared for BOOski, his late mother’s beloved 18-year-old cat who is still puttering around the house.

Kyle dabbled in various jobs throughout his life, including working alongside his father. He most recently spoke of his dream to become an EMT to save lives and help others in crisis. In school, Kyle shined as an athlete, especially on the football field. He remained a diehard Green Bay Packers fan throughout his life. Kyle was deeply passionate, nostalgic, and poetically sentimental. He loved fashionable hats and shoes, sports autobiographies and biopics, standup comedy and movies, tattoos, and loud music.

Kyle is survived by his father, Ron Kelsey; his brother, Shane Kelsey; his sister, Rena Kelsey; his children, Kace and AlliRae Kelsey; and many cousins and extended family members who will miss him dearly.

Kyle was preceded in death by his mother, Denise (Quatrone) Kelsey; his maternal grandmother, Jean (Seymour) Morfin; his paternal grandparents, J Robert Kelsey and Florence Delores (Herron) Kelsey; his uncles, Paul, Lynn, and Bret Kelsey; and his cousins, William Wells, Lively Kelsey, Jamie Kelsey, and Jerod Hammond.

Kyle will be remembered for his remarkable personality, savage spirit, and unwavering love. His absence leaves a tremendous void in the lives of all who knew and loved him. Kyle touched the lives of many who will forever keep his immeasurable memory alive in their hearts.

Family and friends will be received from 5 until 7 p.m. Friday, July 25, at Rasmussen-Wilson Funeral Home, located at 1350 E. 16th St., in Burley. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, July 27 at 4:00 p.m. at Grandma Kelsey’s house, 1018 E 00 S Declo, ID to share stories, memories, and songs in honor of Kyle.

I am deeply saddened by the loss of Kyle. I didn't know him as well as I would have liked. He was a quiet young man. I remember going to a family picnic, he ran over and gave me the most welcoming hug, what a sweet young man! I hope good memories help. Hugs and prayers.
