Ina Rae Ellingford Jarman, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and so much more, passed away peacefully at her home in Burley on December 25, 2025. She was born December 16, 1936 in Vernal, Utah to Thomas Gilbert Ellingford and Ora Moosman Ellingford.

When Ina Rae was very young, her family moved from Vernal to a farm in Tridell, Utah. Shortly before she started school, they moved to Whiterocks Bench, to another farm. She attended first through eighth grades at Tridell Grade School, after which she attended high school in Roosevelt, Utah. She graduated second in her class from Union High School in May 1955.

About a month before graduating from high school, Ina Rae got a secretarial position at Bowman Machinery in Roosevelt. In June of that year, Charles Grant Jarman began working there, and in July, they began dating. Grant proposed to Ina Rae on her 19th birthday, and they were married in the Salt Lake Temple on February 14, 1956. They lived in Roosevelt until after the birth of their third child, when they moved to Burley, where they have resided since 1960.

Ina Rae led a rich, full life that included loving devotion to family, service to others through church callings, and a healthy balance of hobbies and interests. She is remembered fondly by her family for her down-to-earth good nature, sense of humor, and unfailing patience. Her cookie jar was never empty, and she always made time to care for her grandchildren when help was needed. Visitors were welcomed warmly, and when they left, she and Grant would stand at the door and wave goodbye as they drove away. She loved with her whole heart, unconditionally, nurtured the good in others, and taught them to love themselves as she did. Her presence is missed, but her influence continues on.

Church service was always an important part of Ina Rae’s life, beginning with callings as a Sunday School teacher and Primary secretary while she was still in high school. She served in many capacities in various organizations of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; in addition to Sunday School and Primary, she also held positions in Young Women, Relief Society, Cub Scouts, and Activities Committee. Some of her more notable callings were as ward and stake Primary President, and ward and stake Relief Society President. Ina Rae and her husband served together as missionaries to the Denver Colorado Temple, as ordinance workers at the Logan Utah Temple for four years, as managers of the Bishop’s Storehouse in Burley for twenty-eight months, and as ordinance workers at the Twin Falls Idaho Temple for nine and a half years.

Amidst her involvement with family and church, Ina Rae managed to make some time for herself. She enjoyed painting ceramics and shared her talent with family and friends through gifts. Among her other interests were sewing, quilting, and cooking. She was an avid reader and especially liked studying gospel topics.

Ina Rae is survived by her husband of nearly seventy years, Grant Jarman, her six sons, Randy Jarman (Debbie), Doyle Jarman (Kim), Glade Jarman (Becky), Blaine Jarman (Janell), Earl Jarman (Shauna), and Kendall Jarman (Jennifer), twenty-nine grandchildren, sixty great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Fay McKenna (DeNile) and Vicky Fitzgerald (Richard).

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Gilbert and Ora Ellingford, two brothers, Keith Ellingford and Tom Ellingford, a sister, Doris Ellingford, and a great-grandson, Gunner Fowlks.

Family and friends will be received from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at Rasmussen-Wilson Funeral Home, 1350 East 16th Street, in Burley, and from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. on Friday, preceding the funeral, at the church.

The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 9, 2026, with Bishop Todd Wilson presiding, at the Burley Central Stake Center of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located at 2050 Normal Avenue in Burley.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at the Tridell Cemetery in Tridell, Utah.

Dear Grant and family, Ted and I were so sorry to read of Ina Rae passing. She was one of the greatest neighbors I ever had. She was so kind and warm. A very gentle person. She was always checking to make sure that we were ok. We are sorry that we can't make it to the service. Would love to have been there. Please accept our love.

From Bruce and Guylia James:
Bruce and I are so sorry to hear about Sister Jarman. She will always be remembered as having a ready smile and yes, I could see her being in on any joke that would be in good humor! She will be missed!
From Nicole Jarman :
Grandma was so funny! One time Melissa and I were sleeping on the sofa bed downstairs and for some reason our pillows kept getting tugged. We kept blaming each other, getting increasingly annoyed with each other until one of the pillows was suddenly sucked into the couch. We shot upstairs faster than you could say, well anything really, frightened out of our minds! Grandma was the only one who took sympathy on our plights and came down to check. She looked under the bed and said super calmly, “I only see one dead body under there.” Missy and I were freaking out. My brother then crawled out from under the couch and we all laughed our heads off! I love that she went along with Cameron’s prank! That is just one of MANY wonderful memories. Love you forever Grandma!
From Bobbie & Becky Fox:
Grant, were so sorry to hear about Ina Rae. She was the best visiting teacher and one of the most adorable individuals I have ever met. May the Lord be with you and your family. I will miss her happy face and smile.
From Glena Turner:
The Jarmans moved to Burley in 1960 into the Burley 8th Ward. Her youngest son, Earl, and my oldest son, Craig, were the same age. So many memories of all kinds of activities through the years. Love them all. Thoughts and prayers are for Grant and the family.
From Dile and Lynda Monson :
The Jarmans were some of the first people we met when we moved to Burley nearly 30 years ago. She was my daughter’s YW leader and became my Visiting Teacher. We also learned they had served a mission to the Denver Colorado Temple when my parents had served there. Ina Rae was always so kind and caring. We love her and will miss her. We also love Grant and wish him peace and comfort in the days ahead.
From Marilyn Buck:
I will always have pleasant memories of Sister Jarman. She was my trainer when I began serving in the Twin Falls Temple and she taught me so well. Not only how to do things, but how to do them right. She will always hold a special spot in my heart. May the blessings of comfort and joy for the life she lived be with her family at this time.
