BURLEY – Lorraine “Lori” Bette Hulse, an 84-year-old resident of Burley, passed away at her home on Friday, May 15, 2026.
Lori was born in Stockton, California, on September 28, 1941, the only daughter among six children born to Charles and Bette Magellan Simmons; she grew up strong, independent, and resilient.
Lori met the love of her life, Gary Norman Hulse, in Alaska, and the two were married in 1958. Together, they built a life centered on love, commitment, and family. Their bond carried them through 66 years of marriage until Lori's passing on May 15, 2026.
Lori was a devoted mother to six children: Ronald Hulse, who passed away in 2019; Chuck Hulse, who passed away in 2023; Mitchell Hulse; Laura Barney (Lynn Barney); Tiffany Kahalioumi (Mitchel Kahalioumi); and Shawn Hulse (Onie Hulse). She was also the proud grandmother of 16 grandchildren; great-grandmother of 19 great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandmother of three great-great-grandchildren.
Lori often said that her family was beautiful and fortunate to be happy and healthy. She considered herself blessed to be called daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunty, cousin, and grandma. Her greatest joy was her family, and she cherished every role she held within it. She shared her love through sewing, crocheting, crafting, and cooking, passing her talents on to those she loved. Whether teaching a skill, preparing a favorite meal, or giving a handmade gift for a birthday or Christmas, Lori poured her heart into everything she created. Her thoughtfulness, creativity, and generosity touched generations of family and friends.
Lori will be remembered for her strength, independence, unwavering devotion to her family, and the love she so freely gave. Her legacy lives on through her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and all those fortunate enough to know and love her.
Pursuant to her wishes, no formal services will be held.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Rasmussen-Wilson Funeral Home of Burley.
