Jul. 17, 1979 - May 22, 2026
BUHL – Mark Wade Blacker, a 46-year-old resident of Buhl, passed away Friday, May 22, 2026, at his home.
Mark was born July 27, 1979, in Twin Falls, to parents Ken and Janet Blacker. He was the sixth of seven children.
He lived his life in Idaho. He went to school at Memorial Elementary, Big Valley Elementary, West Minico, and then graduated from Minico in 1998. He loved baseball from an early age, starting with little league, eventually playing one year of high school baseball at Minico.
He worked one summer in Alaska on a fishing boat, as well as three seasons at the beet dump. Mark spent a couple years in Boise, went to lineman school, and later married Celeste Fairchild in February of 2008.
Mark became a father to Meghan Jean who was born as beautiful as ever with olive tone skin, and very smart. Mark was her biggest fan from t-ball, pitching machine, travel fast pitch, and highschool softball. He was there to support her through it all, every step of the way. Together they traveled countless miles, creating adventures that neither time nor distance will ever erase.
Ashlee was born two years later and Mark became a father of two beautiful daughters. Ashlee was born blonde, beautiful, and independent. Mark equally devoted his attention to Ashlee as he supported her through t-ball, basketball, track, and every other activity she chose to pursue. His girls were truly his world, and anyone who knew Mark, knew how deeply he loved them.
Mark was a passionate coach, outdoor enthusiast, and loyal friend. He loved coaching, softball, razor riding, camping, and making the most of every adventure. He worked for over twenty years at Idaho Power, starting as an apprentice, journeyman, lineman, to trouble shooter. He built lifelong friendships and became part of a brotherhood he would deeply cherish.
The last couple of years have been hard on him. He lost his brother, Jason, in January of 2024, divorced, had health problems, suffered from depression as well as anemia. Mark was so good at taking care of others despite his underlying issues he was dealing with at a personal level.
Mark is survived by his two beautiful daughters, Meghan and Ashlee Blacker; his parents, Ken and Janet Blacker; sister, Kara Driesel; brothers, Kyle (Carina), Dondie (Julie), Bob (Brandy) Blacker; sisters-in-law, Adrienne and Deborah Blacker; as well as nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Richard, and Jason Blacker; his paternal grandparents, Earl and Marjean Blacker; grandma, Ruby Blacker; maternal grandparents, Reed and Roba Crystal; aunt, Dixie; uncles, Tom and Doug Blacker, and Kelly Petersen; nephews, Ben and Aaron Blacker; and a cousin, Kimberly Allen.
A celebration of Mark’s life will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, June 26, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Rupert West Stake Center, located at 26 South 100 West, in Rupert. The family asks that those who choose to attend, wear a white baseball hat, sunglasses, and your favorite baseball shirt.
Arrangements are under the care of Rasmussen-Wilson Funeral Home of Burley.
