Twin Falls – Lorenzo Cleon Jensen, a 90-year-old resident of Twin Falls, passed away Monday, June 29, 2026, in Twin Falls.
Lorenzo came into this world much like any other baby kicking, and screaming, and full of life. Born to Lyman C. Jensen and Aileen (Durfee) Jensen in the spring of 1936 in Paul, Idaho. “Cleo” as he was known, was the first of six children born to his parents. His early years were spent on the family farm, doing chores and playing with his siblings. He often reminisced about going to his grandfather’s neighboring farm and marveling at his workshop, his tools, and especially his team of draft horses. Cleo also developed a love of hunting and was chasing pheasants at any opportunity.
In the spring of 1955, his parents sold their farm in Paul and moved to Othello, Washington in the Columbia Basin. Cleo, who was in college at the time, did not make the move with his family. In the winter of 1955 he made the trip up to Washington to visit his family, and it turned out to be a life-changing decision. He attended a church activity and met Constance Gardner. They immediately connected and ultimately made a lifelong connection. Cleon often said he loved how Connie’s smile lit up any room they entered.
Cleon and Connie were sealed for time and all eternity in the Idaho Falls Idaho Temple on July 25th, 1956. Soon afterwards, they moved to Provo, Utah and attended cosmetology school. Cleon was later drafted into the U.S. Army and spent time in Arizona, Georgia, and Germany. While stationed in Georgia, Cleon was able to attain his pilot’s license and gained a lifetime love of flying. While stationed in Germany, Loren was born to them in 1961.
After his discharge, Cleon, along with his brother Bernie, relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada and opened a series of very successful beauty salons. Life was good in Vegas; Cleo and Connie added Eric in 1963, Jay in 1965, and Juli in 1967 to their growing brood. He also bought an airplane and continued to fly in any spare time that he had. Often, flying back to Burley to hunt pheasants with his cousins and friends. In 1969, they decided that Las Vegas was not the place they wanted to raise their kids and packed up everything and moved to Othello, Washington.
Othello became home for most of Cleon’s life. Blake completed the family with his arrival in 1972. Cleon had several different occupations during this time from farming, to helping Connie run and operate the family retail store (Jensen’s Apparel). Probably his favorite was being a bus driver for the Othello School District. To this day he is known as “Bus driver Cleo” to many people. Many memories and traditions were established here. From weekend trips to the Tucannon for camping and fishing, to Sunday family dinners with all family members that were able to attend. Othello, in his words, was “the best decision we ever made.”
In the early 2000’s Cleon and Connie made one last move to Twin Falls, Idaho. Here they made their retirement home and enjoyed the opportunity to be back near his extended family and old friends. Cleon was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and found great joy in serving. He held countless positions within that time, but perhaps his greatest joy came from serving alongside Connie at girls’ camps every summer. They could always be found cooking meals and helping with whatever needed to be done during these encampments.
Cleon’s greatest legacy is his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lyman and Aileen, two siblings Lylis and Darryl, and his beloved wife Connie. He is survived by two Sisters, JoAnne (Jerry) and Verus, one brother, Bernie (Virginia), and one sister-in-law Donnie as well as his children, Loren (Joanne), Eric (Melanie), Jay (Rahn), Juli (Lalo), and Blake (Andrea). His legacy lives on in his 26 grandchildren, 58 great grandchildren, and 11 great great grandchildren. He often said his greatest accomplishment was marrying Connie and raising responsible, independent children.
