James Ronald Fowler, age 78, of Heyburn, Idaho, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2026.
Ron was born on June 1, 1948, in Rupert, Idaho, to Joseph Clinton Fowler of Rupert and Alta Anderson (Fowler) Clark of Heyburn. He was an active student and member of the St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Rupert. Ron later graduated from Minidoka High School in 1966. He then proudly served his country in the United States Army for three years as an Electronics Technician, with assignments in Korea and Germany. After completing his military service, he attended Idaho State University, graduating in 1971, with a degree in Office Machine Repair. He worked at Spencer’s Office Supply for almost two decades, followed by Sears Hometown Store where he finished his career.
On May 23, 1970, Ron married the love of his life, Judy Louise Stamm, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Rupert, Idaho. Together they built a loving home and shared more than five decades of marriage, family, and memories.
He is survived by his wife, Judy; his children and their spouses, Stephen Fowler (Janiece) of Mesa, Arizona; Tracy Fowler (Luiza) of Heyburn, Jennifer Fowler McGinness of Heyburn, and Kari Anderson (Chad) of Heyburn; he was a proud grandfather of 10 grandchildren, Daniel Fowler, David Fowler, Logan Fowler, Rowan Fowler, April McGinnis, Adam McGinnis, Maryah Necessary, Payton Weimer Silva, Brady Weimer, and Jaylei Anderson; and also survived by a sister, Linda Glorfield.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Clinton Fowler and Alta Clark; his stepfather, Harlan Clark; brother, Gordon Fowler; and sister, Diane Sells.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Friday, August 7, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, located at 802 F St., in Rupert, with Father Jose Ramirez as Celebrant. The eulogy will be given prior to the Mass at 1:45 p.m. Military Rites will be performed by the Mini-Cassia Veterans outside the Church immediately following the Mass.
An evening vigil will be held from 5 until 7 p.m. Thursday, August 6, at Rasmussen-Wilson Funeral Home, located at 1350 E. 16th St., in Burley, with the recitation of the Holy Rosary beginning at 6 p.m.
